   About

A member of the British Society of Master Glass

Painters and the Contemporary Glass Society,

I work from my home studio overlooking the

windswept West Yorkshire moors at the edge of

the Peak District national park, an area well

known for it's walking trails and wild beauty.

This inspiring backdrop is frequented by

pheasants out strolling in their vivid jackets,

beady-eyed sparrowhawks and owls swooping in

search of dinner.

I create both contemporary fused glass and traditionally

hand-painted & leaded stained glass panels with quirky elements and fine detail, unravelling a visual story, a feast for the eyes. Antique and specialist jewel coloured glass is a joy to behold - I love painting on this unique medium, often going completely off plan and losing myself in the design. It's a bit like opening a wardrobe door and disappearing into Narnia!

I use traditional stained glass paints and enamels along with silver stain to enhance individual pieces. Layers of painting are kiln fired, often multiple times as the design progresses. Leading the glass is a lengthy process with many stages, some messy, but the results are well worth the effort.

Sometimes I include fused glass elements into stained glass work and enjoy making fused glass art in it's own right. Colour and juxtaposition are key to the design aesthetic. For example my PUNK range is pretty and overly bright with a dark underbelly of anger and frustration.

Unsurprisingly, music underpins my creative journey and studio days are framed by vibes from Arctic Monkeys to Etta James.

I'm open to collaborations with other artists and happy to discuss customer commissions.
